The end of January usually brings a decrescendo of activity for us.
The hustle of the holidays and birthdays have passed. Bitter cold temperatures move in and entice me to begin my winter hibernation. You can find me bundled up in socks, sweatpants, and blankets at all times. I make endless amounts of Chili and Soup. We have a fire in the fireplace at least 5 nights a week. And the sun doesn't rise until after 7am each morning, which tempts me to linger in the coziness of my warm bed just a few minutes longer than I should. And I am able to reason that my general laziness is the direct result of the inevitable winter blues.
But this weekend delivered something different.
Instead of the usual chill-me-to-the-bone ice & snow like last weekend, we had nothing but sunny skies, mild temps, and the opportunity to breathe in all the fresh air we wanted.
It was such a nice surprise here at the end of what is usually a very looong January cooped up inside.
Little man even had a chance to pull his car out of the garage and look under the hood.
Apparently, a few things needed fixin.
Sometimes a breath of fresh January air can do a world of good for little ones full of pent-up energy to burn.
And for Mommas who thrive on sunshine...
