Life.

It's been a full week of little moments.

Like.....realizing my daughter is taking on a few extra independent tasks in her day, such as getting herself dressed in the morning and brushing her own teeth. These are things she used to need me for, but now can do on her own. I'm trying so hard to soak it all in. To feel that excitement that she's growing and learning, but also that bittersweetness of letting go.

"Isn't this leaf so beautiful, momma?"

And trying to figure out how to keep up with my mischievous son. This week, he's given me a few little moments worth remembering. Such as...

Pouring a half gallon of milk on the couch.....
Plugging the iron in while I wasn't looking and setting it face down on the carpet....
Taking his diaper off and pooping all over his room including several books... super awesome.
Laying stiff as a board across his car seat so it's impossible to buckle him in....
Figuring out how to open the child-proof bottle of Flintstones Vitamins....

The fun never ends.

But on those tough days when I whine to M that I'd like to clock out for the day, I'm always thankful that I had pulled my camera out and captured something little during our hours together.

Seashells carefully placed in a row.

Learning about dental hygiene at school.

It's impossible to keep matching gloves in this house.

I snuck a peek inside the Fort.

A nature walk with buckets to collect treasure.

This photo adequately sums up my life at the moment.
My first born, smiling and obedient, staying close to me..... "I love taking walks with you Mommy."
My second born, running away from me as fast as he possibly can..... "
Peace out Ma."

I am blessed to have them both. :)

Linking up with Andi!

oh my gosh, I hear you on the matching gloves thing! Just this morning, it was so hard to keep my cool when I realized the girls couldn't find any mittens when I JUST bought like, 4 extra pairs. LOL
I love your photos!

Oh, little boys. My three year old took our 100 lb. dog outside for a walk around our neighborhood at four am Sunday morning (while wearing no pants) while we were sleeping. We've had to install the loudest alarm known to man on our front door to keep him in the house. I'm confident that my hair is going to be grey before I turn 30. At least caring for boys burns alot of calories :)

Oh my what a week, whew! Just keep the sissors under lock and key - not one but both of mine cut their hair. My daughter had really long hair and thankfully the part she cut off didn't require a trip the salon. When I asked her why she did it, she replied she wanted to know what it was like (this after watching Mulan). My son on the other hand, well let's just say it took about 6 months for it to grow back. Sometimes as much as I might miss that age, I don't miss that age! haha

Hope next week you don't have so many adventures. Kim

Oh my gosh, you just described my daughter at age 2! I thought I wouldn't survive her troublesome 2 yrs....but I did...and you will too! It's hard to find strength and patience during that trying time.
For about 3 mos straight, my daughter would take her diaper off EVERY SINGLE NIGHT at bedtime. We stopped fighting it and just waited til she fell asleep to redo. We had a few of those #2 accidents as well, but you just roll w/ it ;)

Your son sounds like a handful - but I know you love him!

Love your pics girl!! I can so relate to where you are with D! I remember coming into the living room with Blair standing on top of our television... back when we still had the tube, instead of a flat screen. Hang in there! 3 and 4 is so much fun! Hugs friend!
