I am not a crafty person but I was happy with an easy little art project I did recently.
I bought these inexpensive cardboard letters from Joann's, and although I considered many different words (Faith? Family? Love? Joy? Pray?), I ended up just going with our monogram.
I decided to cover the letters in textured scrapbook paper instead of painting them just to give them a bit of extra interest.
The list of supplies is very short: Cardboard Letters from Joann's, various colors of
scrapbook paper, Modge Podge, a paintbrush, and Command strips to hang
the letters on the wall.
I simply traced the letters onto the scrapbook paper, then cut them out and glued them onto the letters with the Modge Podge. I painted a layer under the paper as well as over the top of the paper. Then secure the letters to the wall with 3M Command strips.
I hung mine vertically to fit a specific spot on my family room wall but I think it would look nice horizontally as well.
This project cost less than $20!
