October made me get my camera back out

So it's been a long time since I picked up my camera.

And today it felt so good.   I've struggled through a creative rut for the past few months.  I was feeling uninspired and quite honestly, more committed to my beloved Instagram feed than I was to picking up my DSLR.

But oh.... October.  This morning, the beauty of October literally jump-started that creative spark in me.  It's by far my favorite month and I am thankful to live in Pennsylvania where creation reveals His majesty like no other.

October brings jackets and warm socks and fires in the fireplace.  It brings crockpot dinners and extra blankets and pumpkin pie candles.  Colorful leaves that cover our yard, Mums on my porch,  s'mores around the firepit, footy pajamas, nature walks through our woods, and bubble baths when I get chilly.  I'm so in love with everything about it.

We ventured out to the pumpkin patch today for a little photo shoot.  It felt good to hold my camera in my hand again and capture the one and only October where my babies will be 4 and 3.  It's the only October that I will be 33 years old.  And the only one where my husband and I will celebrate 7 years of marriage.

Seasons change so quickly.  I'm grabbing hold of this one and soaking it in.

I LOVE that beautiful close-up photo of AF at the top...and the one of the kids in the tree...and the one of you with the two of them. Where is this pumpkin patch? It looks so cute and perfect for photos (without a thousand other kids climbing around)!
